Research And Planning: Front Cover Cont.

This is my magazine cover so far. I have changed the font of the text and changed the masthead. This was because it looked really unprofessional and I think that the font now looks more eye-catching. I have added another masthead and now I am needing to add the other image which I have cropped out to put into this.

Research And Planning: Crop Out Of Steph

Today I have edited this image and cut out the background from the image. I did this because it made it look really scruffy and I didn't like the background. I also did this because then I can place the image on the front cover without it looking strange.

Research And Planning: Front Cover Cont.

This is my magazine so far. Today I have added two cover lines and my masthead has been played with. I have edited the image with photoshop by cleaning up her face a little and have added makeup to her face.

Research And Planning: Front Cover Cont.

Here I am carrying on with my front cover. I moved the masthead around the page to see where it may look good apart from the top obviously.

Here is a close up of my models face and how I have done the makeup and edited. I also got rid of the blemishes and this is a close up example of this.

Research And Planning:Front Cover Cont.

This is the original image I need to edit for my magazine. Here I need to edit her face to make it more magazine appropriate.

This is a close up of the image edited but not done well. Here I have used the spot healing tool too much and so this made the skin look blotchy so I will need to redo it all from the beginning.

Research And Planning: Front Cover.

Here I have started making my magazine and the masthead. I have used the one which I originally wanted to and the one which the individuals on twitter chose for me.
I want to change the background colour next but if so, I would need to change the colour of the masthead.

Research And Planning: Front Cover Image?

I think that I will be using this image as my front cover because it look fresh and sheek. The image is really clear and the facial expression of my model gives away my genre of magazine. I will obviously need to edit the image but this is going to be the image I will use for my cover.

Research And Planning: Sans Serif

This is an image which shows the difference between "sans serif" and "serif". I understand that in my main magazine I need to use serif font. This is something that is done in all books and magazines so this is important to use for my magazine.
I can use sans serif font in the rest of my magazine, this is not as important but I need to use Serif Font for my main body.

Research And Planning: Double Page Spread Interview NOT FINISHED

The interview I am doing with my artist will be on my double page spread. The layout of it will be question, answer, question, answer etc.

I have begun my ideas with the following:

When did you first start to notice music and develop it into a hobby?

Well, when I was six years old. I remember listening to my dad playing his guitar all the time. His passion for it was just amazing and I guess I followed in his footsteps. I would always try and copy him; hold the guitar like he did but fail.
I started taking guitar lessons at the age of 8 and well that is where my adventure began. I stopped playing when I was 14 because my mother sadly past away but 3 years ago, it all came back to me. I wanted to become a musician and this is what I was going to do.
I now write music all the time and well, it's no longer a hobby is it? It's my life now. I write a song nearly every single day and work on the tunes every day.
I have always loved music, it brings back memories and it is just an escape. Music isn't just words, it has actually saved my life as stupid as that sounds. I will always have my guitar wherever I go to be honest.

Who inspires you and why?

Well, I don't particularly have just one. I mean, how could you? So many people inspire me and even nature. I mean seriously nature? Firstly my dad. My dad introduced me to music. He is the one who drilled it all in the head. The head banging he use to do was insane. He is after all the single person who understood me.
Another? The Script. Well, this is totally cheesy but honestly, without them I really wouldn't be here. They have saved my life and I will gladly say that they have always and will always be my favourite band.

Research And Planning: Double Page Spread Language

This pop magazine which is aimed at a more younger target audience to mine has different language as to what I wish to have. The language here is really informal. The person who wrote this double page spread used really "girly" language. It is also something really sensitive. We see that Zayn says "I like to get to know people before getting close to them" and this would easily relate to the target audience as most readers would agree.
The double page spread seems so friendly and it portrays the boys from One Direction as really friendly. This is something that the target audience would want so it appeals to them.
We also see that it says "personality" and "feeling comfortable" and for students who go into year 7 they will be really scared about something like this, moving on into high school.

This is different to the double page spread I want to create because the language I want to do is more "rock". By this I mean that it will be more informal but in a quirky way. It may not make it as though the artist is so nice and it will show realism.

This is the type of double page spread language I want to do. The language here is informal but it does it in a quirky way. The language is showing that the band isn't so "nice" and they are quite rough.
The language here is also effective and the way I wish to do it because it looks really neat and the format looks really effective.
The language used here is good for my target audience because it isn't so boring and dragging but it keeps making the audience interested now.

Research And Planning: Double Page Spread Ideas

So this is an example of a double page spread from the magazine "Kerrang!". It tells us about the artists and it is also really bold. The double page spread appeals to the target audience I wish to aim for. The magazine I want to do is something like this as the format looks really neat.

For my magazine I want to do an interview with my model, this is because it is conventional to the magazine I want to create. I want to do an interview because it will link back to my front cover and this is also the special feature which will be in the magazine.

This is the other type of double page spread available; this looks really neat and sharp. I think that this layout is great because the image clearly shows what the double page spread is about but it still doesn't lower the importance of the text.

MY MAGAZINE:
My magazine will have an interview with my model. I want the layout of it to be like the last one I have done. The clear effect makes it look professional and I like the idea of there being a large image on one side and text on the other side.

Research And Planning: Double Page Spread Content

This is my first draft of what is going to be in my double page spread. I have wrote it up from what I think it should be like but I will be doing more research in the double page spread and the content in it.
I have decided to do a interview with the model I have for my cover because this way it flows and is consistent. I also like the idea of it being an interview as it could be interesting this way.

Research And Planning: Series Of Testshots with the DSLR

This is a close up image without the flash on with the DSLR camera.  This was taken outside so I used natural light.
This is a close up shot with the flash on. I took this image inside. I think that this image is blurry as it hadn't focussed well enough.
This is a long shot of a model inside. This shot had the flash on and it also had natural lighting. This photo turned out blurry.
This is a long shot with the flash on inside of a model. This photo is good because it focusses on the model and sort of ignores the background.
This photo was taken outside in natural lighting. This is a long shot.
This is a close up of a flower. I used the flower setting for this and had the flash off.

This is a long shot image without the flash of just a tree.
This is a photo of an object on the floor outside with natural lighting.

This is a wide shot photo outside in natural light.

This is a long shot photo inside, it has no flash.

This is my own choice photo of a piece of art in college.
This was more closer taken of the photo above. I used the passport settings for this one.
